Taiwan has long been on my list of destinations to visit, and I’m glad I finally did. What I love most about Taiwan is how it offers a perfect balance of sightseeing, food and shopping so that there’s something to suit all tastes. The hospitality of the locals also left a deep impression on me.
Planning for the trip though, was both fun and tedious. I don’t remember ever having to research so extensively for a holiday! I spent months ploughing through forums and reading travel blogs to put together my own free-and-easy itinerary. So while the main purpose of this blog is so I can relive memories in time to come, I’m also hoping it will be helpful for those planning to visit Taiwan soon. Enjoy! :)
Update on 30 Jul 2011:
Thank you for all the support for this blog, which is no longer being updated. I’m currently working on a new travel blog, starting with information and tips for visiting Hong Kong. In time to come, information here that’s about Taiwan will be shifted to the new blog.

Hi bluebottlesha,
1. I think the pace was just nice, neither too rushed or too slow.
2. Can be found on my entry about Day 6.
3. Around NT$5,000 (S$230) per pax.
4. Can be found on my entry called “Post-trip thoughts”.

Hi, Just to double check with you, throughout your whole trip you only stayed at one particular hotel which is the keyman’s hotel right?
Also from the CityInn Website, i realise they dun have bathtubs in all their rooms?
For your opinion, is it more convenient to stay in different hotels to save the to and fro travelling time?
Many thanks.

That’s right, I only stayed at Keyman’s Hotel in Taipei throughout my trip. This was because I didn’t stay overnight in both Hualien and Sun Moon Lake. If you prefer to take your time to explore those places, you may want to book different accommodation in the different areas. For me, I found staying at the same hotel easier to manage logistically.
No idea about bathtubs in CityInn as I didn’t stay there…

Wow, I can’t really remember the time spent at every destination. Is there any particular day’s itinerary that you’re keen on? It would be impossible for me to list out all. :)

Hi,
Wow! Wat a interesting itinerary!
I am going to Taiwan this end of July and bringing my 2.5 years old daughter along, is the Taroko safe for toddler like her age and is the stroller accessable at the place?
